The Samsung Led TV and other display devices which make use of the OLED TV do not use the backlight. One of their typical features is that these emit less light per unit area than the LED light source. Samsung OLED TV is therefore capable of providing better deep black levels. In dark rooms, these produce better display contrast ratios than the LCDs or LEDs. These display screens find varied uses in the computer monitors, television screens, mobile phones and many other devices.
Some of the main advantages which are provided by this technology are:
1.The future OLEDs are expected to be low in cost. These can be printed on any substrate by inkjet or screen printing methods but its fabrication is quite expensive. This makes these a little costly. The prices will be cut down if scalability of operations is achieved in these devices.
2.Light weight and flexible: The fact that the OLED displays can be fabricated on flexible plastic based substrates means that these can be used as roll over displays in fabrics.
3.Samsung OLED TV comes with the advantages of wider viewing angles as compared to LCDs. This is so because these do not use any single point source for backlights. Rather, it is the OLED pixels which directly emit the lights. Its pixel colours remain correct and do not appear to be shifting even if the viewing angle in 90 degrees from the normal.
4.Save power: These perform much better than the LCDs on the power front.
While these are technologically said to be better and also provide better lighting displays, the lifespan is lower than LCD or LED devices. When these find application in mobile phones and are used to display white areas like the websites or the documents, then these consume three times more power than the normal.
The OLED displays can be based on either the passive-matrix OLEDs or active matrix OLEDs (AMOLEDs). The latest gadgets from the Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy
